My Creative CV
My Academic + Creative CV
I’m a poet, playwright, editor, and producer. As a poet, my focus has been predominately page-to-stage work. I create video poems, dance poems, and verse plays, while also writing more traditional page-based poetry. I like to cross and sometimes dismantle genres and forms. Sometimes I like to write more traditional forms too. I also write micro-essays and creative non-fiction narratives that often resemble prose poems.
What I am currently working on as of January 2023 – in order of my current attention to them:
- A collection of poems
- Wunderkammer, my Substack (please subscribe to my newsletter for updates!)
- A play set in Las Vegas (fully drafted, in editing mode)
- A TV pilot about youth and adulthood, set in the 1990s and now. (fully drafted, in editing mode)
- A series of essays on grief and writing (here and here)
- An experimental hybrid speculative novella that merges poetry, dramatic writing, creative nonfiction, and fiction together (slowly, slowly coming together)
In almost all of my work, I am interested in the ambiguities of language(s), the transmission of memory, both cultural and personal, as well as the concept of time and its interconnections to environment and place.
I used to teach literature and creative writing and devised performance creation. I may offer classes in the future.
Just in case you need this, here’s the third person version:
